Management Associate Development Program
Vulcan realizes that many of our new employees demonstrate
great potential for achieving management positions. Thats why we
offer a Management Associate Development Program that provides a plan
for evaluation and development of entry-level new hires and transferees
into management roles.
In this program, the new employee enters a two- to four-year
program that exposes him or her to several broad areas of management.
Based on the associates knowledge, skills and experience, more or
less time may be required in each area. Additionally, a permanent placement
may occur before an associate completes the program. After completing
the program, an associate can expect several options for assignment including
production supervision; corporate or division engineering; sales; safety,
health and environmental and more.
During the program, an associate will work in several
different plants and locations to gain exposure to a variety of situations
and personnel. Throughout the program, particularly in the last 12 to
18 months, an associate begins to directly lead a workforce. This usually
takes place in the presence of an experienced Vulcan manager. As experience
and confidence grows, the associate is given greater latitude in decision-making
and leadership.
